  SULPHUR HORSES

The Sulphur herd shows a great deal of the old world "Sorraia" dun factor. These horses are highly sought after by old world mustang collectors.

We were amazed at the pen of "unadoptables," some fine looking horses over five years old. While to most of us they would be the most desirable horses since they are mature mentally and physically, adoptions of older horses are weak and they were headed for long term sanctuary. (A couple of visitors discussed adopting a couple of these guys before they left for Oklahoma.)

Then... the rush for cookies!
All in all the visit to the Butterfield Corrals was a stellar one, and to most of us Butterfield represented how a first class horse holding and processing facility can be run... to the benefit and well being of the horses held at the facility.
